Google becoming WWW Monstro? It have just eaten the Feedburner
- 0 Comments
Hope you all noticed a small, but quite important design updates of the blog!
If not - just check Feedburner button at the right side of the blog.
As you can see endless amount of visitors reads the blog via RSS
Yes, the symbol that looks the number “8″ resting (or lying floating?
) means, according to me
, perpetual number of I monetize online blog rss readers. Hopefully you know better and already using Feedburner’s services.
By the way, have you noticed this? - GOOGLE ACQUIRED FEEDBURNER. You like Google probably as much as I do, but isn’t it a weird tendency? - free online services get acquired by SE like Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Youtube, as far as I recall, was acquired by Google also.. Frankly speaking, I don’t like that tendency of Google becoming enormous Web giant once:
Q. Why did Google acquire FeedBurner?
A. Google believes that feed-based content and advertising is a developing space where we can add value for users, advertisers and publishers. FeedBurner’s technology and talented team are a great addition to Google’s current solutions for advertisers and publishers…
I think it’s dangerous and unDemocratic (yes, I do still believe in Democratic values) to have such huge WWW monopoly such as Google is becoming these days. Although I understand that in terms of quality of service Feedburner’s users will win.
Just take a minute to think what could possibly happen to the Internet if Google would collapse one day…
Anyway, back to our blogging stuff. I have also added favicon to the blog. It’s the small image right left to the domain name. What do you think about it? It seems quite alright to me..
Here’s online service that makes favicons online. I mean you just need to find or make a *.gif or *.jpg file with image you want to use as your favicon. Then just upload it to the service and VOILA!! You got the favicon file you simply have to upload to your host root. That’s it! Sit and enjoy!
